Scholarship

Jefferson Neighborhood Association (JNA) scholarships assist graduating seniors living within the boundaries of the JNA or any seniors graduating from Jefferson High School or the Young Women’s Leadership Academy. The scholarship committee decides on the number and amount of the scholarships awarded. 

The mission of the scholarship program is to support the youth of our community towards achieving their academic goals. 

Eligibility:

• Either attends Jefferson High School or Young Women’s Leadership Academy or lives within the boundaries of the JNA if attending a high school other than Jefferson and YWLA.
• Have a GPA of 3.0 (B) or higher (official transcript with grades from fall senior semester).
• Acceptance to vocational/trade school, college, or university. 

Restrictions:

Applications will be accepted from March 1, 2026 through May 30, 2026. The scholarship committee reserves the right to screen and interview all applicants. Scholarships are only applicable towards tuition, fees, and/or books.

• Provide proof of GPA.
• Provide a copy of acceptance letter to vocational/trade school, college, or university. 
• Provide your statement of purpose stating why you should receive a scholarship. Include your immediate objectives and long range goals. Also, include school, church, or volunteer activities. 
• Submit two letters of recommendation from teachers, religious leaders, volunteer advisors or community leaders.
